Q. I have a crack in my alloy wheel can it be repaired?
A. Yes it should not be a problem, but subject to inspection. Lester Engineering started as a specialist welders, welding aluminium / magnesium / stainless steel etc.

Q. How did you start repairing alloy wheels?
A. It just started as another welding job and developed from there.

Q. Where did you get your equipment?
A. When we started repairing alloy wheels there wasn't any equipment on the scene.

Q. What did you do?
A. It was quite simple, as engineers we designed and manufactured it in our workshops.

Q. Does that mean it comes from a foreign country?
A. Definately not, we have the skill and technology to do it all locally.

Q. I have rubbed my wheel against the kerb, do I have to have it totally refurbished.
A. Not always.

Q. I have buckled my wheels in a pothole can it be repaired?
A. Yes, but subject to inspection.

Q. Can you change the colour of my wheels?
A. Yes, not a problem.

Q. My wheels are badly corroded, do the tyres have to come off?
A. Yes, if not the corrosion will not be totally removed from the wheel including the tyre seating area.

Q. But is that important?
A. To fully refurbish an alloy wheel it is essential that the wheel is properly cleaned all over.

Q. Do you sandblast?
A. No sandblasting is for cleaning bricks.

Q. What process does Lester Engineering use?
A. Beadblasting which is a non abrasive cleaning process developed for the engineering industry.

Q. Can I have my wheels polished to a mirror shine?
A. Yes, have a look in our gallery where you can see examples of our work showing 10" classic mini to wheels of a 40 ton truck and lots of other wheels.

Q. Do I have to have my wheels rebalanced?
A. No, we do that for you on our computer wheel balancer.

Q. Are my tubeless valves OK after refurbishing?

A. No, it is essential that they are replaced after any major work is done on your wheels.

Q. Do Lester Engineering do that?
A. Yes.

Q. I have bought a second hand set of wheels, the stud holes are OK but the centre hole is to small, can you help?
A. Yes, it is a simple engineering job to sort it out.

Q. My wheels are 24" can you take off my tyres?
A. Yes, we have the latest tyre fitting equipment with digital interfaces to work on all types of alloy wheels.
